Meet the Member: Mohale Motaung


Our SITC community is built from both corporate heavyweights and entrepreneurial young guns from diverse business backgrounds. For this month's #MeetTheMember feature, we ask Mohale Motaung, actor, model, social media mogul and style icon, for some entrepreneurial insights.

Balancing the demands of your many pursuits must be extremely challenging, especially as they don't always follow the norm of 9 to 5. What tools or techniques have you implemented to assist you with managing your time as efficiently as possible?

I always maintain a planning strategy that is followed by a priority plan. Planning helps me develop a way of knowing what needs to be done, when it needs to be done and how it must be done. This helps me manage everything that I do perfectly because I am always planning (I have 7 note books)

Many entrepreneurs struggle with creating and promoting themselves as a brand, in addition to developing their business. As someone who has perfected the art of personal brand management, especially within the social media arena, what advice would you give to those starting out in building brand awareness?

It is very important to know what niche you want to be in and educate yourself about it. When you are specific and confident about who you are and what you want to be, it definitely comes through. It is also important to associate your brand with what you love so that everything you do and say makes sense and is done to perfection.

Failure is a critical component to long-term success. Have you ever burnt your fingers in this industry, and what learning do you think it has afforded you?

I have definitely burnt my fingers, but it was worth it. Without failure we are unable to learn and develop new was to do something.

Failure has taught me that not everything that I do will work out, and I must keep trying until I win.
