The SLOW in the City lounge in Sandton, Johannesburg, has facilities that rival those of the most exclusive country clubs. Now ComAir, which operates British Airways and Kulula, has stepped it up with a new gourmet restaurant, "The Course at SLOW in the City".
Business Insider South Africa went to check out the urban business lounge and nibble on the new restaurant's gourmet offering — this is what we discovered.
The urban business lounge is a replica of the company's SLOW airport lounges found at Lanseria, OR Tambo, Cape Town and King Shaka airports, just in a business district – with meeting rooms, a library, bistro, vertical garden, coffee shop, lockers, shower facilities and even offers spaces to host events in.
The Course at SLOW in the City
"The Course at SLOW in the City" is an expansion of the business club's offering. The restaurant adds to the bistro and coffee shop on premises.
"Chefs and mixologists have created a menu to mirror the diverse environment The Course finds itself in, where local ingredients are showcased alongside global flavour trends from the very first bite," says the airline on the menu.
Business Insider SA went through the extensive choice of tapas-style plates, sampling the full sit-down menu which spans a selection of prime beef cuts, seafood and bistro style dishes, each paired with a unique signature cocktails — all made using Glenfiddich whisky, this quarter's single malt of choice.
